SARRACENIACEAE

The Sarraceniaceae family consists three genera: Sarracenia L. (North American pitcher plants), Darlingtonia Torr. (the cobra lily or California pitcher plant), and Heliamphora Benth. (sun pitchers). The genus Sarracenia is the only representative in Texas. The other two genera are found in the Pacific Northwest (Darlingtonia) and in the tepui region of South America (Heliamphora) in parts of Venezuela, Brazil, and Guiana.
