In cooperation with many, many private landowners, and state agencies, numerous active surveys are underway. In many cases these properties are located in counties where very few species (collections) have been documented. Below is a list of active county level surveys currently underway. Many of these surveys are also associated with specific habitat types included in the menu to the left.
Cross-Timbers and Prairies (orange): Archer, Baylor, Clay, Comanche, Cooke, Foard, Jack, Knox, Lamar, Montague, Palo Pinto, Red River, Shackelford, Stephens, Wichita, Wilbarger, Wise
High Plains (red): Gray, Hemphill, Lipscomb, Ochiltree, Roberts, Wheeler
Coastal Plain, Blackland Prairie, and Post Oak Savannah (yellow): Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Lavaca, Lee, Washington
Edwards Plateau (blue): Gillespie, Llano, Mason, Menard
East Texas Pineywoods (green): Angelina, San Jacinto, Walker
West Texas Sky Islands: Brewster, Presidio, Jeff Davis, Hudspeth
